Strike that off the list

The dockworker’s strike is over as quickly as it started, but San Antonio residents will continue to feel its effects.

Cue the déjà vu—San Antonio residents are snapping up toilet paper faster than you can say “supply chain disruption.” The former longshore workers’ strike has hit the nation’s ports hard, leaving 45 vessels stranded and bringing container unloading to a screeching halt. But don’t worry: your Charmin stockpile is safe (at least for now).

Despite the fact that 90% of U.S. toilet paper is domestically produced, panic-buyers are emptying shelves at H-E-B like it’s March 2020 all over again.

Though the strike may leave us craving imported mangoes or Guatemalan coffee, there’s no real threat to our two-ply. H-E-B has reassured customers that most items won’t be affected, so you can relax and put that jumbo pack of toilet paper back on the shelf. After all, nobody wants to explain their stockpile of TP when the next neighbor potluck rolls around.

Let’s keep calm and if you are able, share some toilet paper with a friend in need…no seriously does anyone have some toilet paper they can send me?
