If you’re like me, you went to the library to borrow a book and ended up driving around for 20 minutes looking for a parking spot because you forgot it was early voting season. Early voting has started, and the turnout has been record-breaking. According to Fox San Antonio, nearly 47,000 people turned out to vote on the first day of early voting.
The top three busiest early voting locations continue to be Northwest Vista College, Brookhollow Branch Library, and Semmes Branch Library. If you want to find a less busy location, a rule of thumb is to avoid public libraries—they’re always the busiest.
Not sure who or what you’re voting for? Need help finding a polling location? Here are a few tools that will be really useful:
- Ballotpedia: If you want to do a deep dive on all the candidates or propositions specific to your ZIP code, this is the place to go. Just type in your ZIP code, and it will filter out all the relevant ballot items, showing you only what you’ll see when you vote. It also has links to dive deeper into issues or get to know the candidates.
- Bexar County Elections Department: This website is a wealth of information. You’ll be able to see what time polling locations open and close, who’s on your ballot, check if you’re registered, and so much more. This is the official Bexar County elections website.
If you haven’t gone out to vote yet, you’d better hurry—you only have until next Friday. After that, you’ll be stuck in the “stand of shame,” spending hours in the hot October sun with other procrastinators.
What’s on the ballot for Bexar County?
