In case you missed it, San Antonio was shut down for the filming of Season 3 of the Paramount + show 1923, a spin-off of the popular Yellowstone series. The set directors spent several days transforming downtown San Antonio back to the historical look of the 1920s, fit with old cars, window posters, and extras dressed like the newsies.
The film industry in Texas has been steadily growing ever since the making of Friday Night Lights in Austin, and the makers of Yellowstone have been shooting in Texas for years now, but mostly in the northwest near Dallas. It’s unclear why they chose San Antonio or if the city itself will feature in the show.
